The Hanoi Hustle: When a Suitcase and a Laptop Became My Business Partners
Unlocking Creativity and Growth Through Travel
In November 2017, while most folks were planning their Thanksgiving menus, I was boxing up my life, getting my shots, and hopping on a plane with 38 strangers.
You might be thinking, "Midlife crisis much?" or "Seriously, 38 strangers?"
But trust me, there's a method to the madness.
I had just started my third business; let's be honest – it was barely a business. More like a wobbly newborn fawn taking its first steps in the digital savanna.
But instead of hunkering down in my home office, I decided to take a leap of faith – a terrifying, exhilarating leap into the unknown. I joined a year-long nomadic program that kicked off in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Picture it: me, a laptop, and a whole lot of uncertainty.
Was I scared?
Absolutely.
But here's the thing about fear: it's either a brick wall or a launching pad.
And I was determined to turn my fear into jet fuel.
Traveling through bustling markets, ancient temples, and vibrant cities ignited my creativity.
Connecting with people from diverse backgrounds sparked new ideas.
The challenges of running a business on the road forced me to become resourceful and adaptable.
And you know what?
That wobbly fawn of a business?
It started to find its footing.
It grew stronger, more resilient, and more profitable with every mile I traveled.
My year of wandering taught me that the scariest decisions often lead to the most incredible transformations.
It wasn't just about building a business; it was about building a life fueled by passion, purpose, and a healthy dose of wanderlust.
So, here's my question for you, fellow online entrepreneurs: What leap of faith are you itching to take?
What adventure is calling your name?
Don't let fear hold you back.
Embrace the unknown, and you might just discover the hero within you.
Remember, it's not about having all the answers.
It's about having the courage to ask questions, step outside your comfort zone, and let your business—and your life—take flight.

The term "leap of faith" has its roots in religion, but it has evolved to mean any act of trust without logical proof. It's a reminder that sometimes the most rewarding paths in life require us to take a chance on the unknown.
